WELSHPOOL TOWN PLAN

The make up of the plan was completed following a full public consultation in September to November 2008 and was

adopted by the Town Council in December 2008.

There were three themes that came out in the consultation which were:

    a)    More jobs and less homes in the Town Centre

    b)    Change to bring more shopping to the Town Centre

    c)    Retain as much car parking as possible

    d)    Broad Street should be altered - current scheme not popular

The make up includes:

    One way system

Shopping centre on the Old Livestock Market

Shopping scheme extension onto the Church Street Car Park

Further car parking to the back of the Tourist Information Centre

A two storey hotel on the Mill Lane sheep pens site

Further commercial uses on the Mill Lane sheep pens site

Market to be brought back onto Broad Street

Conversion of the ground floor of the Town Hall into a kiosk shopping scheme.

Better loading restrictions in the Town Centre

Common car parking limits on the main streets
