COMMUNITY AWARDS

 

WHAT

The Town Council is looking to present three or four awards a year to those who have given sterling voluntary service to the community over many years or who have achieved something special for the Town.

 

WHO

The awards are open to all who have carried out their good works or done something special in the Welshpool Town Council area but they may not be Councillors or employees of the Town Council.

 

WHEN

Nominations for the awards should reach the Town Clerk no later than A SPECIFIED DATE IN 2013 and will be presented on Mayors Sunday.

 

NOMINATION

The nomination procedure is:

 

The nominee or group should not be aware they are being nominated.

           

The nomination form should be completed and returned to the

Offices of the Town Clerk by A SPECIFIED DATE.

 

The person, business or group nominated will be informed that they

have received an award by the Town Council prior to Mayors Sunday.

 

AWARDS

The award takes the form of a framed certificate signed and sealed by the Mayor and Town Clerk.

 

PRESENTATION

The awards will be presented by the Mayor after the Church Service (at St Mary’s) and the Buffet (in the Town Hall) to those whose nomination has been approved and accepted by a full meeting of the Town Council.
