4.         Planning applications

P2011 1056 Leighton Farming Application

The Committee considered the application for a new 1,000 cattle farm in Leighton.  This application had been considered at a previous meeting when the Committee voted narrowly to support the proposals on the basis that farming should be allowed to move forward within the rural economy.

The Committee SUPPORTS the application on the same grounds as noted above.  The voting was 5 votes for supporting the application and 4 votes against supporting the application.

5.         Local Development Plan

The Local Development Plan presentations are now complete and the questionnaires ready.  The Youth Council has been consulted on how they wish to be asked for their views.  A full day at the High School has been arranged so that each class in turn may come and see the presentation and give their views.

6.         Wind Farms, sub station and cables

The Committee was updated on the current position.

The Committee considered what support for an objection they have and also considered the best way forward.

The Committee agreed that  the matter should be discussed at the Montgomeryshire Local Council Forum before the Committee recommends a way forward.
