Of a meeting held on Wednesday 8th September 2010 at 6.15pm
in the Assembly Room Town Hall Welshpool
(plans were available for inspection before the meeting at 6pm)
Committee
Cllr E Bleivas, Cllr G Cross, Cllr A Crowe, Cllr H Evans, Cllr P Humphreys, Cllr S Kaye, Cllr J Meredith, Cllr Dr J Morgan, Cllr S Squibb and Cllr T Squibb.
Remit
All matters relating to planning, development, highways, planning applications, notices, regeneration, Motte and Bailey and the Town Centre.
Authority
To deal with the above without further reference to the Full Council except where the scheme is of a larger or sensitive nature.
Present were:
Cllr J Meredith (Chair), Cllr E Bleivas, Cllr A Crowe, Cllr H Evans, Cllr P Humphreys, Cllr S Kaye, Cllr Dr J Morgan, Cllr S Squibb and Cllr T Squibb.
1. Apologies for absence
There were apologies for absence received from Cllr G Cross.
2. Minutes of the last meeting
The minutes of the last meeting were accepted as a correct record.
3. General matters:
Planning decisions
There were no planning decision notices.
Town Centre Plan progress
The Town Clerk updated the meeting on the progress with regard to the Tesco, shopping scheme, petrol filling station and one way system.
Charity Shops Issue
This is still ongoing until time permits in completing the report for the WAG.
4. Planning applications:
P2010 0910 Welshpool Hospital
The siting of a temporary renal unit (3 years), formation of additional car parking spaces and associated works.
The Committee SUPPORTS this application.
The Committee also notes that the layout appears to show that the utility rooms require to be serviced by crossing the meeting room area and perhaps,
if this is the case, the layout should be reviewed.
P2010 0902 Border Garage
Certificate of lawful use application for use as an MOT testing station.
The Committee SUPPORTS this application.
5. Welshpool Community Plan (Welshpool - going into the future with pride) Review of progress
The Town Clerk update the Committee on progress. Questionnaires are coming in well, the displays are in the TIC for the whole of September,
in 42 Broad Street until the end of September and there are two more presentations, one in the Market on Saturday and one on Friday in the
Corn Exchange from 3pm to 6pm for young people.
The High School Youth Council has also yet to comment.
6. Consultations:
Wind Farms Tan 8 - approval to a final letter.
The final letter on the consultation on 12.8 in the Renewable Energy consultation by WAG was approved, a copy is attached.
7. Touch Screens for Tesco site
The meeting to discuss these has yet to be arranged.
