UPDATE ON ACTIVITIES OF THE ASSOCIATION

Charity Shops

The idea of a new class order for Charity Shops was supported by the association last year.  A meeting has now taken place with the Welsh Assembly and they would now like to receive a full report for the Minister.7

The report has now been prepared and presented to both the WAG and Parliament.  A meeting with the appropriate minister is still being sought.

 

Wind Farm transport in Mid Wales

The Association held a full debate at its October 2010 meeting and again on 15th July 2011.  The action plan agreed is now being carried out.

 

Community Hospitals

The subject of the closure of community hospitals has been raised by members and is to be the subject of a full debate on 27th Janaury 2012.

 

Logo Competition

Details of the competition to choose a logo for the Association can be found here.

 

Local Development Plans

The subject of local development plans and in particular housing allocations is one of some concern.  A full debate is to take place on 27th January 2012.

 

Charters

The Association supports the principle of charters.  A presentation was received at the October meeting on the subject.

 

School assessments

This subject was cause for concern and due to its importance a speaker is to be invited to the 27th January 2012 meeting.

 

Web Site

The web site now has a domain name of www.northwalesassociation.org

 

Meeting with One Voice Wales

No further action is being followed until the results of Janet Finch Saunders AM approach to the Assembly is completed.

 

Association Policy

A formal policy has been adopted.  The details of the policy will now be worked up to include a Welsh Language Policy, Membership Policy and

also a day conference.  The day conference is to take place on 10th March 2011 in North Wales.

 

Newsletter

A newsletter on the current news about the Association is to be posted on the web site and passed to all AM's and PM's.
